Background of DNO: DNO (Do not originate) is a service created and controlled by Somos (the toll free numbering authority) and has been adopted by many of the telecommunication providers in the US. The purpose of DNO is to help stop fraudsters from spoofing legitimate caller ID’s on illegitimate traffic. This is accomplished through adding numbers that should not originate calls to the DNO database, and then as a call with a caller ID of a number in the DNO traverses the network, carriers who have implemented the DNO will dip the DNO database, see the calling party number is the DNO and end the call in its tracks so that the call does not complete to the terminating party and protects the terminating from receiving a spam/fraud call. This also protects the true user of the number so that they are not getting complaints and or a bad reputation for calls they did not truly make. 

Why would you want your Invoca Promo Number Removed from the DNO?: If you were making outbound lead calls or some other reason for outbound calls, but wanted the people you were calling to call back a number you are tracking through Invoca, you want your promo number removed from the DNO. 

Process for DNO Number Removal

1. Open a support case with Invoca with a description of the Invoca number/numbers you are requesting to be removed from the DNO and the reason (use case) the number needs to be removed.

    1. Additional Details
      1. Provide the POC (Point of contact) for your company who will be responsible/closest to the operation of this number as it relates to outbound dialing. 
      2. Provider name you are using to make outbound calls with an Invoca Caller ID.

2. Customer support will review the request internally and follow up with questions if more information is needed.

3. Numbers will be removed from the DNO and confirmation will be sent through the case once completed. 

SLA for removal from DNO is 5 business days.
