Objective

  • To report spam phone calls made to your network with a goal of reducing total number of spam calls received.

Applies To

  • Any Invoca client receiving large amounts of short-duration calls on their network.

Procedure

  1. Run a call report for the affected days, sort by total duration and note very short duration calls, calls 2 seconds or under.
  2. Note whether these calls are made to local or toll-free promo numbers, or a mixture of both.
  3. Download your call report, eliminate extraneous calls from the report, and submit the report to support for investigation.
  4. Please be sure to keep the "phone type" column in your calls report as it is useful for troubleshooting

Additional Information

  • Spam calls are handled differently based on whether the call was made to a local or toll-free promo number
  • Spam calls can often be conclusively identified by calling back the caller. For "landline" type phones in particular, you will often find suspicious calls use a caller ID that is out-of-service or otherwise not callable.
