Bulk updating promo numbers

Procedure

  1. Navigate to Marketing Data Dictionary.
  2. In the right corner select the Export button > Applied Marketing Data (excel). Contact your Customer Success Manager or Support rep if you do not see this option in your account.
  3. You will receive an email with a link to download all applied Marketing Data (this may take some time, depending on how much data you have stored).
  4. Once you have the report, save two versions of the report. One will be used as a backup report, in case you run into any issues during the upload. Open up the second copy of the report to edit. You will notice along the bottom are up to 5+ tabs. Select the Promo Numbers tab.
  5. The tab will include a list of all phone numbers in your account, ringpool + static numbers. However, you can only update marketing data for static numbers. Locate the header for the Marketing Data field you wish to update. Please note the headers will be the API name and cannot be changed to the Friendly Name.
  6. Once you've made the changes to the Marketing Data, save your new sheet.
  7. Navigate back to the Marketing Data Dictionary in step 1.
  8. Select the Import button, next to the Export button in step 1.
  9. On the next screen drag or upload your new Excel file.
  10. You will then receive an email confirmation of the upload.

Gotchas:
  • The tool is for updating marketing data only. For example, you cannot modify the campaign name, profile name, or promo number description.
  • The file will include ringpool + static numbers. However, you can only update marketing data for static numbers.
  • Do not edit the header called _invoca_id_do_not_change_. This field is the unique identifier for the promo number and is required for the upload.
  • The marketing data headers will need to be the Partner API name, and not the Friendly Name. For example, you'll use utm_source and not Marketing Source.
  • If you see "(inherited)" this means marketing data was applied at either the campaign or profile level vs a promo number level. You can overwrite the inherited value if you wish.
  • If a value already exists and you wish to remove it, the system will not accept a blank cell. It is recommended to use a dash to represent a blank value, "-".
